RPIC Clarification

RPIC have sent us a rebuttal to an earlier note we published. The note explains the relationship between Marcel Trading and RPIC. To be fair to all sides in this dispute we are publishing the statement in full below:

CLARIFICATION STATEMENT

  • Former officers and employees including Mr. Winston Wee and Ms. Kathie Dee left our company without any notice last July 2003. After which, they have issued various misleading statements such as being in control of our plant and being authorized to sell products under Rico Philippines Industrial Corporation (RPIC). When in fact they are just trying to buy materials from different suppliers and selling these products supposedly as RPIC materials.
  • Our company, Rico Philippines Industrial Corporation is in normal operation as before and is continuously supplying our products to our sister company, Marcel Trading Corporation.
  • Our duly elected president is Mr. Wee Dee Ping. After the Securities and Exchange Commission of the Philippines (SEC) declared the July 28, 2003 RPIC election as null and void, the October 9, 2003 election under SEC supervision was held at our plant facility in Carmona.
  • We (RPIC) do not own the trademarks - Aquagel, Aquavis, Milkgel and Milkvis but our sister company, Marcel Trading Corporation owns all of the above trademarks and brand names. Marcel has been using these trade names since 1993 for their export business.
  • Any client or business partner who are bothered by the misleading statements of the former employees are very much welcome to visit us in either at our Manila office or at our plant facility.
