Food ingredients under the microscope... again. The public obsession with food ingredients continues with recent scares in the UK about an illegal food colouring (Sudan Red) finding its way into dozens of products. The public concern over issues such as GMO as failed to fade away in Europe with the result that most companies will now ask for a GMO free certificate as standard and several companies who cannot supply GMO free products, such as some xanthan and maltodextrin suppliers, are effectively excluded from the market.
