Its the end of another year and the Hydrocolloids Technical review has just reached the ripe old age of two. The review started with a pilot edition in the autumn of 2001 and began regular production at the beginning of 2002, so this is the end of our second complete year. The review came into being from the observation that most people in research and development positions actually stop reading the literature after a couple of years and appear to spend the rest of their lives living off what they read from their university days. Unfortunately a lot of literature abstracting services are not tailored to any one industry and I certainly found when I tried to use them I was bombarded with thousands of junk abstracts. So the Technical Review was born to provide the hydrocolloids world with a tailored review that only covers the important material and delivers it in a format other than two thousand sheets of fan fold stationery. We would like to thank all the subscribers for their support over the first two years and hope you find it useful enough to subscribe for the next year. Because the review is a small and extremely focused product feel free to drop us suggestions on what you would like to see or maybe what you would prefer to be dropped from future issues, everything is negotiable, you are the customers, make sure you get what you want.
